McCoy looking forward to action

"I'm excited to play," said McCoy, the winningest QB in NCAA history. "I'm really looking forward to it. To be able to know you're going to go into a game and play a good bit of time, it's going to be fun. When you're on the field awhile, you can kind of get in synch, get in the flow. At least I hope to."

Rogers fined one game check

If Rogers had received a one-game suspension, it would've cost him the same, but he would've been held out of the opener in Tampa Sept. 12. As it stands, Rogers will be eligible to play if he's healthy. And that's a big "if."

Browns take many questions to Detroit

Six questions the Browns must address tonight in their third preseason game at Detroit:
1, Is Jake Delhomme over the hump?
2, Which running back deserves the most work when the games get real?
3, Who are the receivers they can count on?
4, Are newcomers Sheldon Brown and Joe Haden good enough to allow Coordinator Rob Ryan to refine his game plan?
5, Was safety T.J. Ward worth the No. 38 overall pick in the draft?
6, Can the line hold together without Shaun Rogers?

Ward promises to be a quick learner

It's taken just one exhibition game for Browns rookie safety T.J. Ward to figure out a priority in learning his craft in the NFL. "From here on out, I'm going to wrap up more," he said Monday. "That's what preseason's for, to get those things out of your system."
